Other People’s Shoes
Have you ever heard the phrase – ‘You can’t really understand another person’s experience, until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes?
Sometimes we think we understand why a person is behaving a certain way or why they do certain things. But sometimes we don’t even want to know. We judge people when they do things we don’t like.
But Ajapa wise kids try to understand people. Perhaps the bully used to be bullied himself. Maybe the ‘mean’ girl, doesn’t get to spend much time with her parents. We often envy others, but if you knew what they experienced behind closed doors and if you knew their secrets, you might not envy them as much anymore. In fact, you might find yourself feeling sorry for them.
A lot of the time, you will never know what the person has gone through, so it is important to treat everyone with kindness.
