Ajapa at Treasure House School

Ajapa and his crew went to Ilupeju, on Tuesday, to participate in the Book Week of the charming Treasure House Nursery and Primary School.

Ajapa and the old man told the story of The Day The Tortoise Broke His Shell to a backdrop of a soft African instrumental. The children were fully engaged during the story and we selected a few of them to act out characters such as Aiyekoto and Yanribo. They were also given prizes for answering questions correctly about the story. One of the students won a prize because he guessed Aunty Oyin’s age!

As usual the Ajapa mascot was received with much verve, though a few of the kids were a little afraid of him! The retelling was followed by dance to Ajapa’s latest track – Wise Earner. The kids rocked with Ajapa and were disappointed when he had to leave for Olowo village.

Everyone was warm at the Treasure House School and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

The Ajapa crew will be at the school for the rest of the week to give the children the opportunity to purchase books.
